What the Heck Was I Thinking!!!

So as we all know I posted a thought a while back that since I have started this blog nothing interesting has happened. I went a step further by saying that I needed my naughty 2 year to be more naughty! Well it worked!!! And boy was I silly to ask for such a thing! (Even if life is not so boring when she is awake!) Today I was trying to fix the computer ,which I am sure that Alaina is the one the broke it....when she walks over with a tube of toothpaste, I asked her to go put it away because we already brushed teeth. She goes into the bathroom and I figured she put it away like she was asked to. A few minutes pass and she does not come out. So I call her out to see what she is doing. She walks out and says "brush mommy! All clean!" she is beaming and ever so proud that she did it by herself! her face is covered in toothpaste..my walls and floor got cleaned as well.... I grab the tube of paste and realize that she has not only made a mess but has also managed to eat it! (she does have very breath now!) It was adult Colgate...so I end up calling my poison control specialist (you know who you are) as it says right on the tube "Warning keep out of reach of children under 6 years of age. If more than used for brushing is accidentally swallowed get medical help or contact poison control center right away."..........Needless to say I found out she would be fine. As I was hanging up the phone she comes walking by muttering something to herself and notice that she has yet another tube of toothpaste in her mouth, this time a kids toothpaste. I took it from her and told her "No don't touch!" So now I wonder if she will never brush her teeth again because I told her NO. So really I did bring this upon myself...if not by wishing for it then by genetics alone! So mom I am sorry that you were not able to take showers and enjoy them....getting dressed so fast that you were not sure if you matched completely or that you even had matching socks...and for the many years in which you were terrified to go to the bathroom while I was awake! I know how you feel both stress and being able to laugh at the wonders that a child so little could even come up with. I will tell you this much Alaina/little Melanie always keeps me on my toes and I am always wondering what the next hour will bring to my life!

Wow time does fly! Mason is now six months old. He is now 15 lbs 11 oz and 26 inches long! I can't believe how fast hes grown, although he does pig out when it comes to food. This picture of Mason was just a few days after he came home from the hospital. He was so tiny that I have a hard time remembering how small he was. I do miss it!...and I miss how much hair he had. Mason is now going bald and it is his fault! He now scoots to get places only he uses his head and has rubbed off his hair. Here is a shocker.....the hair that is starting to grow in is blond! So once again it seems that the red haired child has yet to come. Now I only need to convince Trev that we have a red head somewhere waiting for us in the spirit world! Mason is becoming very fun and his personality is slowly starting to appear more each day. He's definitely a mama's boy....for now that is. He is starting to play and he loves it when the girls are around, even when Alaina is sitting on him singing row row row your boat! (I think Alaina entertains him and I seem to think that she is his favorite toy for now) Hmm, I wonder what he will look like in another 6 months!

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I know that we did...we missed being with all our families but we still had a great Thanksgiving. This weekend has been an interesting one, due to Alaina and her more curious side! For the past little while she has been noticing that she does not like to be wet. She takes her diaper off all the time now and wants to sit on the potty, even if she has done her duty already. She does try and thats all that matters, and hopefully one of these times she will catch it and makes it to the potty before the diaper gets wet. Over the weekend we put her done for her nap (which she seems to think that she does not need any more) she did not go to sleep and was in the crib talking for about a half hour. I fianlly decide that the nap was not going to happen so I went in to get her out.....and came upon her with her diaper off...finger and bed all brown and messed up! Yup thats right, and if you haven't figured out what she was into use you imagination. She was ever so happy to see me...she was smilling and pointed at her bed and diaper and said "I went stinky mommy!" She was so happy and proud of herself. I on the other hand not so happy...I got to clean it up. She is a funny little girl and Trev and I just love to watch her during the day. (we more or less wonder what she is going ot do next) She has purpose behind everything she does. We, however, are not sure what the reasoning to playing in her diaper was. Monday I went and bought pull-ups to start potty training her (I was in no hurray but now...). I am not excited to be tied to my house but it has to be done. I do no want another crappy situation to arise! lol thats a good one!! Oh grrrreat!!! theres those Peterson geans shinning through! Love ya Dad! (might be a joke that only my family will get!)
